It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to use it.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand what a “retweet” or a “thread” is.

It doesn’t matter if Twitter intimidates you.

EVERY COACH NEEDS A TWITTER ACCOUNT.

Why Twitter?

  1. Twitter is full of great coaches sharing great information
  • There are coaches from professional teams in Europe, former coaches with tons of wisdom, college film coordinators who share tons of clips from different teams across the country — all on Twitter.
  1. Twitter is FREE.
  • You could spend hundreds of dollars traveling to clinics, buying hotel rooms, using up entire weekends…or you could follow a few top-notch Twitter accounts for free.
  1. You only need to know the basics of Twitter for it to be useful.
  • You don’t need to be intimidated by Twitter/how to use it. It’s just a search engine with more interaction.
  • Go to twitter.com, create your account, click search, type in the bolded accounts below, follow them, and slowly expand on who else you follow:
  • hoopvision68 (Jordan Sperber) — puts out an incredible Xs and Os weekly email
  • HalfCourtHoops (Gibson Pyper) — a HS assistant coach who tweets a ton of NBA set plays
  • BBallImmersion (Chris Oliver) — former Canadian coach who runs the most in-depth basketball website on the planet
  • FastModel — these guys run FastDraw, a software program that allows coaches to diagram their plays; they have an EXTENSIVE library of plays available
  • PickandPopNet (Zak Boisvert) — D1 assistant who shares a lot of what he learns along his coaching journey
  • Hoops_Companion (me) — I send out daily plays, drills, and basketball tips that can help you improve as a coach!

HAPPY TWEETING!
