Simple Thoughts on Stagger Screens

--

Here are a few ideas on using staggered screens in your offense using a basic curl, a tight curl, and a “twirl” cut.

All of these options/concepts can flow in your offense from basically any set, but you’ll find the most success in early transition or as a designed quick hitter.

Some common actions you can flow into if you don’t get the initial action on the stagger screen?

  • tight curl to the rim for a post up
  • reject both screens and go back door
  • rescreening the first screener
  • popping back to the ball and following
  • flaring
  • slipping
  • and more
